Attendees: Jason, Emily, Rich, Chris, Marcie, Linda
Absent: Lisa, Darryl
We had a very productive discussion of the items below.
Watermelon Time (WMT) will be held on Sunday, August 12, (instead of the 4th) because it falls between Spiedie Fest and the Dick's Open.
Can Triumphant Life Church (TLC) the host WMT on the 11th? And would TLC like to combine it with their annual church picnic?
Rich will be the Volunteer Coordinator. He will use the DavisAveGarden@gmail.com account to correspond with all Garden Lovers. The list of Garden Lovers is now available in that Sheets section of that account.
Chris will be the Community Outreach Coordinator, which means he will develop a list of garden choices with props, a way to display them, and a method for voting on them. Additionally, he will run that program at both Community Outreach sessions noted in timeline.
Linda brought along several good props for use in the Outreach display and suggested that other CCE programs come to WMT to attract attention.
Marcie volunteered to work with Darryl to figure out important dates for church. She will probably become the church picnic lead as well. In which case she'll work with Jason & Emily to plan the food, games, and decorations of WMT.
Jason will finalize a snail mail piece to Garden Lovers and send it ASAP. He'll then pass the volunteer baton to Rich to follow-up.
Our proposal has been accepted!
We're now set to be the first VINES community garden in Endwell / Endicott.
VINES' Kaitlyn Sirna came to our meeting to develop a timeline and discuss the kinds of choices we need to make.
We're a group of local volunteers who have banded together to create a community garden. We meet frequently and are always looking for additional help.
